Features:
(1) The excitation wavelength range is wide and the emission wavelength range is narrow. The same excitation light can be used to simultaneously excite various quantum dots to emit fluorescence of different wavelengths. Compared with the traditional fluorescent dye molecules, the fluorescent dye has a narrow wavelength range of excitation light, and requires excitation light of various wavelengths to excite a plurality of fluorescent dyes, which brings a lot of inconvenience to the actual work.
(2) The emission peak is narrow and symmetrical, and the overlap is small, and the fluorescent dye emission peak is not only wide, but also asymmetrical, and the tailing is serious, overlapping each other seriously, and easily interfere with each other, which brings difficult problems to be solved for analysis and detection.
(3) The emission wavelength can be tuned by controlling its size and composition, and the quantum dots of the desired wavelength can be arbitrarily synthesized, and the quantum dot peaks of uniform size are symmetric Gaussian distributions.
(4) The fluorescence intensity and stability are about 100 times that of ordinary fluorescent dyes, and the marked objects can be observed for a long time.
(5) Quantum dots after various chemical modifications have good biocompatibility, can be specifically linked, have little harm to organisms, can be labeled and detected in living organisms, and fluorescent dyes are generally more toxic and biocompatible. Poor sex.
